This is a low-risk play to try out LIVE content on Saturday nights up against literally nothing else, to gauge the actual demand.
If Collision does well and consistently wins the night or does top 2 or 3, then the network will be thrilled. Look at what they're drawing on Saturdays now. Even in the top 50 would be an improvement over today's ratings.
The expectations aren't high, the upside is there, the floor is basically just cancel it and run Captain Marvel.
In short it will be interesting to see how many people consistently tune in on Saturdays because it should give us a real idea of what the sustainable hardcore wrestling audience for AEW actually looks like. It'll never be preempted, bumped, or up against competition.
There is room for zero excuses. Sink, or swim.
