Probably some ECW match with Tajiri.
That said I've grown as a fan thanks to Dragongate, finally saw all the moves done really fast, and I'm over it. Now I only like matches from 1984 or earlier and I'm much happier.

I’d say probably this match or maybe one of the Bret and Benoit matches. I know I watched it and it was probably the Owen tribute but I can’t remember. I grew up with Bret and Perfect on tape too but Benoit trumped everyone. Still, my dream match that never happened is peak-Bret vs peak-Angle. That would’ve been like the climax of wrestling as a sport. No point in trying after that.

Suck it, sperg. Big Dave isn't a figureskating judge. He's a viewer's guide, and even he said anything he rates *** and above is good, anything **** and above is great, and if your within ½* of his rating with your own, you basically agree about the quality of the match.

He was never admirable. He was a "good" wrestler if you like workrate stuff. That doesn't make him admirable. It said nothing about his person or character.

From what we know now, he was always a fairly big scumbag in real life and what happened wouldn't be entirely surprising to those who knew him.

There are so many matches rated above five stars. Why should I waste my time with middling crap?

People only consider these classics because they were in the WWE where the standards were so low. If you watched Japanese wrestling you wouldn't even think of these.

I have watched Japanese wrestling, tardo. More matches than I can count, from the '70s, '80s, '90s, and to a lesser extent the '50s, '60s, '00s, '10s, and '20s.

I've always wondered how much guys with actual wrestling backgrounds had to pull back when they had these little "shoot" sprawls where he lets guys get a little on him. Even if it's still worked, you can tell Benoit is actually having to exert himself to try and keep him there and Kurt's just rolling out like its nothing.
Also makes me think of the time Kurt absolutely dad-dicked Xavier Woods for trying to shoot a double-leg on him in a battle royal when he's literally a complete cripple at this point.

This match was definitely a big one. But consuming ROH was the biggest, especially Danielson and McGuiness. If you get into indy wrestling you'll end up being a workrate mark, because its all most of those guys have.

I don't think it was any one match that did it, it just slowly dawned on me realizing I was virtually watching the same match over and over again, getting bored and irritated with how they could possibly be less versatile and entertaining than video game characters.

I realized that I was never going to be happy watching matches again unless the performers were busting out moves I've never seen before or rarely see, or fill the match to the brim with movez more advanced than powerslams and supplexes.

Went to a Roh show during mania weekend in Phoenix. Turned me into a goober workrate smark but as time has passed, good workrate wrestling has lost its appeal and now I hate wrestling for the sake of wrestling without character, working the crowd, or charisma.
