How does cable channel placing work? Seems counter productive having your channel in the expensive channel block, or grouped in with specialist interests like history/geography/outdoors. If it was me I would want my network lumped in with the normy slop, basic package shit, affordable to the masses

never. TNA was never close to AEW even at its peak. They completely flopped on the road and their PPV buys were mediocre.

The broadcasters that sell cable packages pay x amount of dollars per subscriber to you to have you in their package. If you're TNT you get something like 9 dollars per subscriber per year because you're pretty valuable,

No the cable providers choose what packages to put out with who in them. They're not going to make their package more expensive for the sake of putting AXS on. That's why they go on the more expensive packages that come with all those small channels.

Anthem has tried for years to get into a better cable package. Their first effort was the Fight Network but there was no demand for a combat sports network anchored by TNA and non-UFC MMA.

They bought AXS because Mark Cuban, the original owners of AXS saw the writing on the wall that cable was dying and wanted out and for Anthem, it was still an upgrade for them.

There have been rumors that Anthem would stil try to license Impact to a bigger network if a network is willing to pay.

It took time but Jarrett turned a profit slow but steady. They saw growth in PPV buys, better tv deals and good ticket sales for certain live events.

And the Bischoff and Hogan worked Dixie into overspending way too fast. They went live all the time, went on the road full time, etc.
And they started losing money again.

And Dixie's parents were not like Shad Khan. They cut off her spending and then she lost the Spike A tv Deal

Honestly think this was Impact's chance to make waves. Jarrett knew what he was doing helping GCW build their Hammerstein show and for Flair's Last Match.

If he had a stable weekly tv slot and a competent roster, he could have provided a rasslin alternative to AEW's shit

TNA broke even in 2009. That's it. They never drew on the road and their only ppv success was the MMA style Samoa Joe vs Kurt Angle cage match. Turns out doing a carbon copy of circa 2000 WCW was a bad business strategy.
