I've gotta agree with this. It really blows, as he had a tiny, tiny bit of an IT factor. Tiny bit. MJF squash (it should have been a brutal cage match), then the Mark Sterling angle, followed by Samoa Joe, and teaming with Orange Cassidy and FTR killed his momentum. Imagine Goldberg winning the TV belt, then making him team with Billy Kidman and other tag-teams.

Christian was basically the best ever TV Champion on ECW, which Tony watched. Tony also saw his early AEW run where he was having great TV matches against guys like Hobbs, Sydal, and Angelico. And yet he's relegated to jobbing in gimmick matches on PPV, with nothing in between. His match against Omega was his only straight singles match on PPV since joining the company years ago.
