It's like those Mortal Kombat intro dialogues times 500. Nobody wants to watch Undertaker walk for 10 minutes before they can play the game just because that's what Undertaker does on the show.
If any of these devs had half a pinky fingers worth of innovation in them, they would try to incorporate actual gameplay elements into these entrances. Let us hit different poses, play to the crowd, and how well we get them to react determines the momentum we start with. And then if I get a really big pop making my way to the ring and my opponent gets no reaction, I get a huge boost where I can just roll him up and win in 5 seconds.
