There's absolutely nothing wrong with using old animations.

It's the one decent thing about the 2K games, the fact that they use old animations actually gives the game a decently sized move list, which is like the one thing I like about it.

Yeah, I assume someone told Uno that and he took it at face value but it's very apparently false just looking at it. It'd be stupid to make brand new ones anyway, Yukes have like 23 years of games to take stuff from, but it's a stupid lie.

I've never actually seen a case of re-used animations being a legal issue across publishers, AKI kept their WCW moves when they jumped to WWF, and again reused some animations for Def Jam/Ultimate Muscle for different publishers. Visual Concepts kept all of Yukes' animations after they left the series too, there's still stuff in the 2K games now that's been floating around three generations. Legally you may be right but it seems like kind of an unwritten understanding.

Either UNO is lying, or he and Tony got worked by Yukes, because everyone who's played the Yukes games knows it's the same damn mo-cap animations, with the minority being things like taunts and the odd original move. I'm not paying 60 based on that principle alone. The lying.

It’s not similar though, like, you could pin a guy 50 different ways, but they just put the same basic pin and count animation in 2K and FF. The exact one. Nobody is accusing things of being similar, they’re factually stating that things are exact retreads. It’s only bad because AEW is advertising it as newly hand crafted.
