All memes and jokes aside, autism + his dad not being around.
He was born naturally different and highly sensitive and his father wasn't there for him being on the road constantly. Must have coped by drinking which just made him fat and even more depressed as seen by how he attacked his parents. You can see how he looks much better towards the end of his life, but the drinking was still present. Kev mentioned how he would hate loud environments and had a strange sense of humor. Taking alcohol away from him cold turkey must have fucked his brain which is what killed him I guess.
Moral of the story don't have a kid unless you are able to be there and nurture their development so they don't end up being messed up. It's a shame because he seemed like a decent kid despite everything.

I have no evidence for this, but I suspect that if your brain chemistry is a little wonky from psych meds, withdrawal hits you really hard. I’m around Tristen’s age and been on antipsychotics most of my adult life, and I almost had a stroke when I tried to taper myself after just a year of moderately heavy drinking

Makes sense. Tristen might have been on medication too. It's bad enough drinking on medication but suddenly just removing alcohol just like that is dangerous as fuck.
