Joe Lanza (VOW) on Punk/Elite

No.10277848 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
>1) Lanza says the Ace Steel issue was dealt with on Tuesday (which he says was a very ugly day), but by Wednesday Punk and Tony were back on solid ground discussing booking ideas. He says Punk asked to be taken off the press materials because he didn't want advertised in advance, ala The First Dance.

>2) Lanza says Punk has always planned to come back on the 17th, and that has never changed. He says Punk has never threatened to bail on Collision.

>3) The segregation to Saturday was not Punk's idea - "The Elite wanted that - the Young Bucks wanted that."

>4) Punk wanted Ace Steel back on the road, The Elite said absolutely not, thus Ace is working remotely.

>5) All the legal documents passed between the parties were all amicable and not threatening, including the NDA on Brawl Out. Lanza says one states that Punk is required to attend television tapings when asked (which seems to me to contradict #2). Lanza adds that Tony wasn't going to announce the United Center until all of those legal documents were signed by Punk, which feels like it contradicts #1 & 2.

>6) Lanza says Punk signed his first AEW contract an hour before he took the stage on Rampage, so this last minute stuff is par for the course for Punk. He says Tony wasn't going to announce the United Center until Punk had signed the Brawl Out NDA and other docs, but that at no point in this entire ordeal has Punk ever wavered on showing up on the 17th. Lanza says Punk has always wanted to come back, and if it were up to him, he'd be working Wednesdays and Saturdays.
