Even when they find a money mark, as in the case of TNA and AEW, it's just the same bootleg Attitude Era, i.e. attitude era edge but with kayfabe ignored, nobody sells longer than a minute, nobody has any personality because, everybody works the same flippy style because workrate is all they care about, and with geeks playing the parts of wrestlers.
WWE could do the same, of course. And they should. But IMO they're a lost cause. They completely sold out years ago and are a corporate entity not a wrestling promotion. Ignore them and focus on how what you're presenting is different.
At some point, promoters need to stop blaming Vince and look at what they can do better. They don't give a shit because the indie wrestling market has found its niche. It's small but it's dedicated. And it's risky to try to do anything different. But at the very least, quit blaming the actions of an old man from over 20 years ago for current problems today.
