As if on cue, the acute pain in her lower back lances sharply through Colby's spinal column. She manages to endure it without visibly cringing or shuddering, but her vision nearly goes red as she stares at Miss USA.

Waiting for the pain to pass, Colby looks around at the people here today. People of diverse backgrounds, many races and nationalities, all gathered for the purpose of remaking the world into a better place someday. Saving it from people like Miss USA, and fixing the damage her kind has done. Over the roar of her pain and anger, Colby repeats the words again in her mind:

The Angels all start laughing in the ring. Nikki steps right up to a camera and looks into it.

Nikki bursts into laughter again. "But that's not it, no. That car is old and trash, like you, Trash Romero. Something else got under your skin. Now what could it be? Hmm."

Nikki paces back and forth across the ring, dramatically rubbing her chin and pretending to be deep in thought. "Oh! I got it! You beat an autistic girl that smells like a corpse and wears zombie cosplay, some Buddhist chick from like a Vietnamese anime or something and another of Skelly Skelly's little friends and thought 'wow, im gonna be champ forever!' right?"

"Yeah because even an old washed up lady like you, if you even are a lady, could beat those clowns! But then I came along. The hottest, the most talented, the bestest wrestler in the whole fucking world, after Madame Divine of course, and you got SCARED!"

Then there's the dork who called in her demon buddy because she got scared. Loser. Then there's you, retiring because you got scared of me too. Another loser. Four fucking losers!"

"The four of you have shown the world that the title doesn't make the wrestler, the wrestler makes the title and that title is cursed to keep being a joke until the day it's mine."

She turns to Priscilla. "Madame Divine, who was the number 1 contender and scheduled to face Ash?"

"You, Nikki," Priscilla replies.

Nikki smiles and turns to Amy. "But Ash gave up her title. She quit, she retired. She's not here. She forfeited our match like a lil bitch. Isn't this true?"

Amy sits on the turnbuckle and laughs. "Afraid so."

Nikki covers her mouth in fake shock. "Oh no!" She turns to Sapphire. "If we've got a match against each other and I quit, that means you won, right?"

"Definitely!" Sapphire replies.

Nikki laughs and rolls out of the ring, making a beeline toward a display case containing the Intercontinental Title.

Keron flopped down on the mattress and took Squeakie out of her pocket.
After placing him on her chest he began to clean himself.
The last thing she remembered was the rat coming closer to her face and sniffing her chin before she fell asleep.

Amy leaps to her feet, mic already in hand, and leaps into Sapphire's arms revelling in the boos now being projected towards the ring from the sold out crowd.

"Why are you booing? Because you placed your faith in Ash Romero only for her to walk away? I understand how you feel because I made the same mistake - I placed my faith in cowards and fools only to be let down time after time."

Sapphire places Amy back down on the canvas with a grin then theatrically flexes both biceps.

"The fact of the matter is that despite everything you're told the Divine Angels are the true heroes of this story. Ash Romero was only here in WWA to get a big marquee match with Kelly Omega and when she found out she wasn't getting it she quit, but it's okay because now the Intercontinental Championship is around the waist of a truly divine champion and it won't be long before the World Championship is too. Colby runs back to Halcyon Apartments, turns the shower up to hot, kicks her shoes off, and jumps in under the scalding jets of water. The yellow paint fortunately washes out of her hair easily enough, but it's clear at once that it will not wash out of the dress she is wearing. The dress she had bought for two hundred dollars only a few days ago. Colby recalls how proud and confident and beautiful she had felt, putting that dress on for the first time today. Now it was ruined. Colby's shoulders heave with sobs, and her face stings with tears that are washed away in the shower's hot spray. With a stifled scream, she rips the dress off of her body and tosses the wet remains to the floor, then falls to her hands and knees in the shower, naked and sobbing pitifully, as her tears are washed down the shower drain.

The dress is ruined, of course. So is her handbag, another three hundred and seventy-odd dollars. Her shoes had been miraculously untouched by the yellow paint, and her belt had been salvageable, but this is small consolation. Despite the payoff from her win over Hailey, money is getting tight again. These items can't be easily replaced right now.

She'd finally found a friend she could relate to, on some of her favorite interests..... and then alienated her by being a weird clingy creep. Was that a surprise, really?

Besides, Colby doesn't want a phone call, not really. She wants a human hand on her shoulder, or squeezing her hand. She wants somebody there with her.

But there is nobody.

The evening creeps past, one endless minute followed by another, followed by another. Colby stares at the wood grain of the coffee table in her apartment: miserable, alone, and in pain.

Sue stumbles back to Robyn McDaid’s apartment from the peace rally.
While she managed to avoid most of the yellow peril a few globs of paint still found their way into her hair and onto her shoes as evidence by the neon trail that snaked its way from the front door to the couch.
Sue felt a small pang of guilt when she finally noticed the path of mustard coloured footsteps, but fortunately she was quickly able to continue convince herself the luckless Robyn had it coming.
Yellow for yellow and all that.
After flopping down on the couch she withdrew a small baggy from her jacket pocket, stared at its contents, and sighed.
The oregano was sold to her at a rather substantial discount because it was covered in paint, but would it still be good?
It was.
Within seconds her tension melted away, followed by the pain that wracked her body, followed by her inhibitions, and finally her sense of self.
The lingerie of the mundane was cast aside and the full, glorious figure of the universe was Sue’s, or rather the entity which had formerly been Sue, to devour with her eyes.
A beautiful woman with the head of a dog? That couldn’t be right.
A young girl with thick glasses cowering in fear.
Two titans with bodies seemingly composed of pizza who cleave the world in twain.
More visions come but they are even less comprehensible.
Overwhelmed, Sue screams and suddenly finds herself back in Robyn’s apartment on a couch covered in yellow paint.
She had to run two errands that night; first a stop at Club Xtacy for some more oregano, second a trip to the hardware store for more yellow paint.

Amy frowns and slowly rises to her feet, her mind ablur with ideas and plans but a stabbing pain in her leg forces her to sit back down again.

>"Some idiot left a lunch cart unsupervised on the plane and it slammed into me while I was asleep. I didn't think it was so bad before, but now I'm home and the excitement of the trip has worn off I'm not so sure. Working the match probably wasn't smart and apparently I have a match with Sola Fire coming up soon too. No rest for the wicked I suppose."

The two sit in silence for a moment, both feeling a little sorry for themselves. Amy tries to brighten the mood with a smile.

Those words echoed in Amy's ears - it's exactly what she wanted to hear and she couldn't be more thrilled by the prospect. She grabs the bottle of red wine and after examining the strange label untwists the cork until it pops into the palm of her hand, she pours a glass for herself then begins pouring a glass for Colby.

Amy looks up and is immediately blindsided by Colby's effortless beauty and how the slightly ill-fitting outfit compliments her figure. The plunging neckline, those collarbones, that lipstick and those big brown eyes, she's so dazzling that Amy doesn't immediately notice the glass overflowing onto the coffee table.

"Oh... shit!"

Without thinking Amy whips off her shirt and uses it to soak up the wine before it trickles onto the hardwood floor. Colby notices the situation and grabs a towel but fortunately the shirt has done most of the work with no damage done.

"I'm so sorry! I...You..."

This was the moment Amy realised that she might've already lost. If she tells Colby the truth, that she looks beautiful, it may encourage her to side with the Empress - Amy knows that Japan and China aren't the same thing and she knows Colby knows that too, but if there's a chance Colby's loyalties lie in the East then a wrong word here might tip the scales in that direction. However if she lies to Colby or dodges the question she might break the heart of a lonely young woman looking for a friend. She wonders what Nicole or Jen would say if they could see this sorry situation; "make the bookworm scream, seal the deal then bounce", that sounds about right.

Amy realises she hasn't said anything in a while and is still clinging to a squishy wine soaked t-shirt that Colby is politely attempting to take from her. When she opens her mouth the speak the only words that come out are the truth.

"You look stunning Colby Jefferson. Absolutely stunning."

Colby has grabbed a towel and held it out, but too late. Amy has already caught the spilled wine with her shirt, and the problem is solved.

Well, that problem, anyway. The other problem is that Colby has no idea what to do next, so she just stands there and looks down at Amy. A second or two passes before she realizes that, although Colby is considerably taller, her gaze has fallen a little LOW, and if she was going to stare slack-jawed without any sense at least, she could look Amy in the eyes. So Colby gazes into Amy's eyes, just as Amy begins to speak:

Colby's mind and will both melt like butter in a saucepan.

Colby reaches for Amy's shirt, but her hand is nearly trembling and she realizes that she's going to risk putting the sleeves of the valuable silk kimono in contact with the wine-sodden shirt, getting them stained. So instead, she changes the movement of her hand to place it higher on Amy's forearm, gently holding her. She starts to sway in place, and leans in closer to Amy to compensate.

Colby might've been starting to say something about sitting down to watch the wrestling tape, but it doesn't matter. She trails off, her face inches from Amy's, her lips slightly parted.
