He pumped too much into the Bidding War of '24 angle too early on. He shouldn't've stayed heel anyway, but if he was going to, he needed to use that sparingly until we actually got close to '24. Harping on it too much too early just socks tension away from his match outcomes because we instinctively assume he's not in danger of losing till November '23 at the earliest.

Not on is it annoying, but it's just nothing original. Foley in ECW always made comments about going "up to New York." Rob Van Dam as a heel would talk about how he loves to work Mondays. CM Punk had his whole Summer of Punk storyline in ROH about jumping for WWE. WWF had countless guys make jabs about going to WCW in the early '90s when they were losing in the Monday Night War. We've been seeing this shit for decades. It's just once again MJF rehashing someone else's gimmick for cheap heat. Cody was good in AEW. But AEW went out of its way to cultivate as many toxic tranny fans as they could, and thats a big reason why they have No Milly and half empty arenas month after month now.

Cody never won the AEW Championship, but the Tranny head cannon still said he was oppressing them and abusing his authority to push himself.

And he's a 5'8" vanilla midget. So while he might look tough standing next to Jungle Boy and Darby Allen, he will get absolutely mogged by 90% of the WWE roster, which is a death sentence for a Heel outside of being comic relief.
