He's maintained the same point that AEW "trains" their audience to accept unmaintainable standards of high flying - high fructose action that is same as giving first base, second base, third base, anal, and a DP gangbang with pics and videos on the first date BEFORE they even pay dinner. We are literally at the point of adding fireworks to kicks in AEW. Sure it's flashy and new but it wears and drags down the effect of "traditional wrestling" every time. That might not seem trivial when you are on that high on that but its detrimental to scene as a whole.
And you could say the same about Undertaker v Mankind too, pushing the limits too far for momentary high that took the shine out of competition. It took cage matches and pushed the ceiling so high it took the edge of lesser matches in a cage, you could even make wild defenses for Rollins v Fiends shitty match with that argument that Vince was trying to lower the bar to make cage matches more relevant for the future without diving from top, it payed off in the Cody v Rollins match years later.
But where Mankinds double fall immortalized the match and the reputation for too guys, pushing high fructose shit with sparklers and fireballs will only lead to more idiots trying to SFX themselves into fame and that will lead to more failed effects.
There is no denying AEW attracts people but the bigger question is, is it the right kind of people and will it actually bring business tomorrow and not just today.
