80s NWA is great - the weekly shows are short squash matches and some of the best promos you'll ever seen filmed in a studio with a small, but blazing hot crowd. Great feuds and some tremendous big shows.
Hogan era WWF is some of the most fun wrestling you'll ever watch. The quality dips a bit during the early 90s but picks up again around 1996 or so. 1997 might be the best year for the WWF. Pretend Wrestlemania X-7 is the series finale.
Nitro-era WCW is fun to watch because they were the only company out there to beat Vince at his own game. The nWo were genuinely compelling for a while and the company probably has the deepest roster. They completely lose the plot around 1999 though.
90s AJPW - just guys trying to shoot kill each other in the ring. Extremely hard hitting matches.
