First heard modern JR in NJPW and he clearly just doesn’t give a shit. He has no passion anymore, doesn’t know who people are, will take over and pause commentary so someone can explain something or someone he doesn’t know about while having no problem bringing up literal who’s from the 70s-80s.
He has zero excitement in his calls, any charm he had is long gone.

Yeah the wrestlers have done it to themselves, what is there to get excited about when every match has people flying and flopping around, it's not interesting the 500th time. You notice it in matches where the guys aren't shitters, the audience will pop louder for a submission move or a hot tag than for a random dive some manlet did in the previous match that nobody even remembers anymore

I'm assuming you don't even watch AEW so you have no idea just how bad he really is. No one would care if he buried dumb stuff while otherwise doing a good job. But he always sounds bored. He just rambles. He doesn't even know all the wrestlers names. He doesn't know the names of half of the moves. Someone can do something insane and he'll barely react to it.
