Tbh I think you'd be better off arguing that Dragon Gate is the real reason for all of this. CIMA and the boys coming over to PWG and ROH in the early 00's and teaching everyone to flip and go 100 mph with no selling really messed things up.

Lucha libre and puroresu on their own are really enjoyable, especially if you grew up with it or if you are a dedicated fan, but the Dragon Gate/Toryumon mix is absolute cancer and has unironically killed the business
