And he did the same decades later and poached the top talent from WCW and ECW when they collapsed. He would rehire guys back and still push them heavily too. Vince even put his world title on former indie darlings like Seth Rollins and AJ Styles. Not saying that Vince won't bury guys if he doesn't see something in them, but it's just not true that Vince buries guys from "the competition" when you look at his history.
