This and the Roman one was hard to fucking watch. I get that wrestling loyalists hate Taker bc they want flippy gay shit but I seriously couldn’t believe Brock beat Taker. Brock would mog taker back in 2004 but years later it wasnt right. Maybe if it was Aj Styles, (not the dog shit we got recently) or Randy Orton I would of backed it.

Roman was even worse… terrible matches. Ever since Batista and Micheals he never got a good match at mania.

The first match Brock lost after this was in the Wrestlemania main event. He lost to Taker at SummerSlam 2015 as well.

he was losing to Cena, HHH, etc. he just came back from being a champ in the UFC to losing to fucking HHH kek.
Any momentum Brock had was dying, and if he lost to Taker, his career would've legitimately ended at Mania.

The entire reason Cena got squashed in his match against Brock is because he swore up and down that it made no fucking sense for the guy to take the streak to go in a half/half match with him. Cena refused to have it be anything but a squash match.
So, ending the streak mixed with squashing Super Cena? Idk what you're smoking saying it "did nothing". It created a viable threat to everyone on the roster that we're only just now having die down in the past year.

And yeah, I didn't like how it ended either, but seeing as how Cena decided to politic his way into beating Brock for his redebut, they really didn't have a choice by this point. It was the right call, even though the better call would've been to have Cena lose at ER and give The Streak to Roman.

I hated it. The Streak was a once in a lifetime angle that came about via pure accident. It was a huge part of WWE lore and probably their biggest drawing angle ever.

Brock also didn't need to be the one to break it. If you can't figure out how to get Brock over any other way, you shouldn't be booking.

The streak was never about putting somebody over. It was about putting Wrestlemania over. Which isn't necessary when your giving it away for 9.99 or cheaper or free.
FYI, it put over Brock more than beating Cena did.
More importantly, Heyman is still a character involved in the main event to this day. People don't care about Heyman's involvement in the Bloodline because they remember him from ECW of whatever, they care because this guy's last client killed the streak and dominated the company for a decade. Heyman has been a huge attribute to WWE, even if he mostly just sulks in the background most of the time.
It shouldn't have been some new guy. It shouldn't have been some sappy mandrama bs ending like his brother Kane or something. It shouldn't have been some other old guy like Sting. The decision to go with Brock permeated into their main event and is still nestled there to this day.

It revitalized Brock after the HHH feud and propelled him to his later world title runs. It was arguably the right decision that caught people off guard and made people forget about Brock's earlier run. It was perfect.

The followthrough, using him to build up Roman, though, was what was bullshit. A total waste of ending the streak.
