Narita is unfortunately the clear Jannetty of the returning Young Lions so far, so no, he's not even gonna make it in the Top 2 of his block, and the only big win I can see him having is over maybe one of Tsuji/Shota and, if he's really lucky, one of SANADA/Kaito

I'm as high on Tsuji as anybody but lets not discount Uemura. He feels more like a conventional ace than Tsuji (who is more of a Naito-esque character) and Uemura's sendoff basically guarantees he'll he gunning after Okada along with Narita and Shota when he returns.

He'll be a far more fully formed ace than Shota, but roughly the same level as Tsuji. Narita is a less cringe 2020 Master Wato, clearly not fully formed but he's on his way, he'll find his own identity beyond Shibby 2.0 in the next few years.

Well, Goto (if properly booked and not left to flounder as a never-again contender) is basically Shibata, so that makes sense for Narita too.

Goto should've never been cooled off after winning the G1, not much anyway. He should've been kept as a guy who COULD contend, and should've been given a small title reign. His career would be so much better if they'd done this, not to mention it would've given NJPW more depth.

I disagree. I think NJPW would be more interesting if either of them were credible contenders, a la Nakanishi. Winning once can do a lot for a guy. You still don't need to use him in the main event scene constantly, but you can do a Taue-like run where a guy like Goto or Ishii gets hot and it could've made for a convincing main event on Dontaku or Dominion or some shit like that.

Goto has been wasted for a long time and I say this without being even a little bit of a Goto mark. I just think he could've been better utilized. It's too late now unfortunately.
