American wrestling is sincerely neutered by its scheduling. Imagine how more full the WWE roster would feel if they could do a G1 sort of tournament. Karrion Kross spent months having a non-feud with Rey when he could’ve been put in the same Block as Rey, and also Roman, and also Kevin Owens, etc. he would just get more of a chance to actually showcase himself instead of sub-10 minutes a week with ad breaks. It just feels empty in comparison. I feel like every week for a year I’ve seen the same picture of Sami Zayn talking to Jey Uso backstage posted on Twitter with the caption “this is cinema.”
