That’s right, everyone, it’s finally happening! This match has been on the books for some time, but for one reason or another it always fell through. Tonight, however, Yokoko Zuna will finally get her hands on the self-proclaimed Queen of the Beach. Zuna has been on a warpath through villages and countryside of late, including a debilitating, ah, busting of some young WWA employees.

Duna Sands, meanwhile, has quite a streak of her own going on, as she prepared for a huge matchup with Bishamonta at Onsen a Lifetime. Duna has been on the losing end of a tables match in the past, but coming up soon will be the next dangerous evolution in that style: an Iron Waifu Tables match, wherein the competitor who can slam their opponent through the most tables in the time limit will be declared the victor. Duna most recently took down Shogun Aina in a one-sided contest, but how much energy does she have left for this relative newcomer?

I'm popping in just to say I was one of the OG's that was considering jumping back in just to prop up the positivity and stomp out the in-fighting. But if GG is being let back in after then it's a lost cause. Drama stemming from people getting up their own ass and taking shit too seriously is always what kills these things off and they were the one who started the very first shit sandwich these threads started having. They haven't addressed that and if they're here they're just going to encourage the flames and make the drama even worse. I don't know what was going on with Skelly and the discord, but bringing GG back is like solving a migraine with a hammer to the head.

Our two warriors tonight were the first to step up when Nikki Kade claimed there were no contenders to “her” WWA Intercontinental Championship. While it originally looked like a three way dance may have been on the card for the PWE, Nikki Kade -- perhaps with some Divine intervention on behalf of her stable’s namesake -- has guaranteed that the Intercontinental Championship match at Onsen a Lifetime will be a regular one on one meeting. Her opponent this weekend, Sheila Foster, therefore set out to get a singles match of her own against Nico.

Nico is something of an old rival of Nikki Kade, and the two have met twice in matchups in the WWA’s past, though only once in singles action. Nico has changed a lot since those days, and will be doing her darndest to claw her way back into title contention.

Sheila Foster has proven to be on something of a streak of singles victories with regular rules, and will be looking to continue that run tonight, with an added twist. On behalf of WWA management, Foster has let us know that if Nico is victorious tonight, she will become the number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship no matter who leaves Onsen with the title around their waist.

Duna stomped down to the ring for her match with Yokoko, fury burning in her eyes as she came face-to-face with the shit-gremlin herself for the first time. She seemed ready to beat the piss out of Yokoko for everything she had done, but as the match began, something seemed...wrong. Something seemed off. Duna seemed off her game, as if something else was on her mind. Was she looking too far ahead to her match with Bishamonta? Had the death of Skelly Skelly actually affected her on some level?

Regardless of the reason why, Duna was unable to find any type of advantage in the match. From the moment the bell first rang, Yokoko was in control, taking the fight to Duna in a way that no opponent ever had before, pushing her in a way that Duna could never remember being pushed. Every time she tried to fight back, Yokoko had a counter for her. Every time she started to turn the tables, Yokoko flipped them over on her. The Queen of the Beach was being humbled, beaten and battered around the ring almost like how Duna herself had beaten Shogun Aina.

When all was said and done, the Queen of the Beach found herself in a most un-queenly position: on her knees, forced to kneel before Yokoko. The Tetsu Claw was locked on, and Duna couldn't find the strength to stop it. Yokoko's nails dug in, and all Duna could do was scream, wailing in miserable pain as Yokoko towered above her, laughing as she finished the so-called 'Hurricane' off, forcing Duna to wail out a submission, desperate to get away from the psycho-freak.

The bell rang, and Duna's heart sank. She had lost. Her streak was over.

She stayed there on the mat for a moment, panting, exhaustion aching her body and sweat rolling down her tanned skin. Then, she did something she had never done before, not even once in her life.

Duna looked up at Yokoko. She felt a pang of fear in her heart, and then...then Duna scrambled to her feet, turning away from Yokoko, sliding out of the ring to escape her.

For the first time in her life, Duna was fearful. For the first time in her life, Duna Sands was running away.

Bishamonta watched the match from her guest room in the Stellar Stars estate, unaware of what had happened with Skelly... or perhaps, refusing to believe what she had heard as merely rumors.
The further she watched the match, the more vexing her emotions became. Watching the television, questioning how Yokoko was able to get the upper hand on Duna, and once the bell had signaled the end, she stared confusedly at what she saw.
Conflicting thoughts ran through her head. Was that the best you could do? This is only a learning lesson, you will recover. I thought you were the "Queen of the Beach"? One must expect defeats with victories in this business. You can regain another. Until, at last, it all came centered on one.

Shutting off the TV, she laid back upon the bed, pressing her hands together in a silent prayer, as she awaited her slumber to take her.

Colby is knocked off her feet in a torrent of shrapnel and sticky honey, and falls to the street, covered in sticky gunk and bits of glass. In the distance, she hears the sound of a faraway jet engine.

Colby lets out an ear-piercing, wordless scream. She bolts to her feet and takes off in a run, just as she had days earlier when the Peace Festival was attacked. She makes it several steps before her drunkenness and sticky feet overwhelm her, and she falls down in the street.

She gets up, scuffed and battered, and runs again. She falls down again. And again. The Divine Mansion is a long way from Chinatown, but Colby's apartment is close by. Most of her things have been packed up and moved to the Divine Mansion or stored elsewhere safely, but the basics are still there, and her lease is still good for months

Twenty-five minutes later, Colby Jefferson stumbles through the door of her apartment, gasping, sticky, and filthy, her face streaked with tears, her hand and knees and elbows scuffed from countless falls along the way. She manages to take her keys back and slam the door closed, and falls again, then crawls to the bathroom, sobbing and gasping, and turns on the shower. She crawls inside and curls into a ball, hugging her knees and shaking.

Honestly I feel like Skelly needs a break, and i'm not saying that to play favorites or side with Kade & PD even if Sapphire is IC. Back when we had our issues, Skelly even said as much that he wanted to take a break and felt he couldn't due to being the champ. The issue was that the rationale behind Zuni being turned down was she was coming off a loss at the PPV. Which in isolation is fair.
But then later on when Priscilla, who was coming off a win challenged, Skelly responded the same way.
So then one side felt the other side was trying to keep people they don't like out of the scene, which then led to a whole lot of other shit where it turns out some anons have disliked others for months and the anons they disliked were harboring distrust of them the whole time/suspecting them of making certain posts anonymously etc etc

With the benefit of hindsight I don't think either match at SiST, both being mutliperson tag matches, were a good showing for either Zuni or Priscilla to get a world title shot. But that's neither here nor there, and again ties into the idea of match results being secondary to RPing. With that in mind, Priscilla is one of the top heels, Zunigoth a top monster (I don't usually like that distinction, "monster" as something separate), and both could have RPed into a case for the title shot.

And obviously I think that's what should have happened. What I'm saying is, even if one or both of Priscilla/Zuni count as this 'politicking hot waifus up or down the card', it was far from a widespread issue.

I just care about the overall product and not any bullshit politicking clique.
None of these things were problems for the longest time. Things were running pretty smoothly aside from the occasional stray ribbit shot. We got a mad spiral because some people decided to press like crazy.
Those two, Skelly more than ribbit, were users that an overwhelming majority of those making content for these threads enjoyed working with - whether it was to go against their characters or work with their characters. Ribbit, not so much, I'd say that's more of a 55~% type deal.
The moment someone, with a name, goes out of their way to publically be incendiary by announcing that they refuse to work with someone like us, those unrelated, are supposed to give a fuck, that person surrenders any innocence to this clusterfuck. Did they have every right to not wanna work with someone? I guess. It's a fake anime girl e-fed, but sure. Did it need to be this big deal? Nope.
It was the first (and last until Skelly decided to return the favor) time some bullshit like that happened. Regardless of how warranted it was in concept or reason, it was gay as fuck in practice, because it intrinsically divided the threads.
Most people? Didn't really care. Nothing more than mild annoyance at the worst of times.
Those two? Made a big fucking deal.
Then, auxiliaries, Skelly on ribbit's side and Kade on Priscilla's, further escalated the issue until it boiled over.
All of them are fucking losers. The problem is that two of them are trying to convince everyone that they aren't and that's gay as fuck.

Before this occured, ribbit was shat on for mostly innocuous reasons. They did annoying shit, their characters talked dumb, simple shit like that. Clowned on, but generally nothing too crazy. Once that happened, though, even non-related users were shat on for even interacting with ribbit or being in the same stable.
The harassment extended to Onigiri and Shogun. Even to runners like MMAnon, who'd get accused of putting them over. Shit that didn't happen until an established user went vocal about not liking them. By the way, if you're following me, that means

Given that I think that was in the pre discord ways, I'm honestly not sure how else it could have been done.
I'm a big proponent of people being upfront about things as opposed to shitflinging anonymously, so I never had an issue with an established user saying something to another and identifying themselves while doing it instead of hiding.

PDanon's original post with their issues with ribbit in the Priscilla/Violet feud was a perfectly acceptable post and I never thought it was harsh or unfair. I believe the issues should have been raised as they happened, rather than in one big thing at the end of the story, but that's just me. As far as I'm aware, that should have been the end of it. "Refusing to work with each other" is not my cup of tea, and I've already played with the characters I don't like (as much; I like every character in one way or another) because who gives a shit if you don't like the anon behind someone. That's what storytelling is. You're not meant to like some characters.

There was a call to just make everyone the same OVR, but that was without the background knowledge of individual stats. Even the idea of everyone being maxed out at 99 OVR doesn't work when things like weight classes, fighting styles, height and weight are taken into account because that still gives the lighter, faster characters a huge advantage in the sims.

Ditching the sims altogether is a poor way to go, in my also shit opinion. There needs to be some way of figuring out who "wins" a feud. There has been a lot of discussion about the results of matches not being the be all and end all of things, and for the most part I think the WWA has a good handle on that. People lose right before their big PPV matches all the time, but it doesn't, and shouldn't, change the planned matches. That loss should just be a good set up for a future story.

Exactly. Which is why as far as I'm concerned, the major escalating issue was that instead of that being allowed to be the end of it, a grudge held over it led to idiotic decision making on the Skelly/Ribbit side of affairs that was done without regard toward the upcoming PPV.

That's a fair point, though. It's still a damn shame.
All of this could be solved so easily. And it's not as clear cut one person's fault type deal, as I've mentioned. I think PD could've just sandbagged them and moved on, desu. Even if it led to some confusion at first.
I also just don't like the "refuse to work" shit. It's an e-fed. Big deal. If you end up in an angle with an anon you don't like, work the match and move on. I always thought it was kind of childish.
That's a big takeaway for me. There's a truth to what the folks involved have to say, in all corners, in both directions.
They just struggle to be grown adults and really sit down. They'd rather assume the other side is unreasonable so they can be unreasonable in return.

We can either agree both sides didn't let it go, or that PriscillaAnon didn't let it go first. Skelly's dismissal of Priscilla herself came after that, and is not the next step in this chain.

Like I keep saying this is between the two of them, or should have stayed that way anyway. The escalating problem still boils down to Skelly being pulled into this by his friendship with ribbit and doing the spiteful attempt to block the challenge without caring about the PPV. And as I recall that was when Kade jumped in and Skelly and him had their first big argument in the server.

I think the DA are clearly meant to be heel characters and there's no ambiguity about it. At least the main characters in it anyway. Lucy is the only exception now since she's seemed to be on the fence the whole time as a character.
SS is a bit murkier. They're surely meant to be faces and I think Keron and Shogun are. Skelly was not a straight up babyface anymore in my opinion as the character had become very cocky. I don't know if this was intentional or the creator's ego leaking into it. Onigiri always seemed like a tweener to me too rather than a straight up babyface

Maybe I'M wrong, but frankly, when it was time for her to get serious, I always saw Skelly as a bit of a shittalker. From back and forths with Kelly, to (a much more minor example) her putting Holly in her place when she was set up to commentate the Rookie Cup.

That's another point. PD at no point made another out of character post about Ribbit. Kelly withdrew from the match for in character reasons then Skelly brought it up weeks later when the arguments were going on. That was it.
