The reason why "booooriiing" destroyed his career is because that and the jobber gimmick that followed were the most interesting things to ever center around him. It wasn't due to a lack of opportunity to show that he was more than generic athlete guy with the personality of an accountant, either. If you listen to him talk IRL, that's just who he is. Being begrudgingly forced into a gimmick of self-mockery was the peak of his potential as a wrestler.
