wwf blew up ridiculously in 99 and 2000 compared to early 1998. millions of new fans came in. most of the fans who started coming in later didn't see wm14 at all. I started watching summer 97 and I can tell you it went from barely anybody at school watching it to literally everybody in 99 and 2000. none of those kids saw shawn michaels wrestle or even know who he was really. he was already retired by the time they got into it

He'd just show up and you knew he was someone important but you didn't care enough to be nostalgic about if you weren't already a fan.
