If it was someone I gave a shit about, I’d probably be seething, but who the fuck gives a promo telling everyone that the match doesn’t matter and it doesn’t matter if Theory wins or loses?

Heels are there to get beat down or make their opponent seethe. Cena no selling everything and then saying that no one would ever care killed any kind of momentum Theory could’ve had.

He now needs an entire revamp.

After that, Triplr H proceeded to bury the fuck out of him which culminated in his failed title shot for the lowest prestige title in the company
They then tried to salvage him with a repackage that ruined what people loved about Theory and werr forced to backtrack on *that* too

So now we have the same Austin Theory as when he was moderately over but with tons of garbage that happened to him along the way and aborted attempts at change

I don't blame him first and foremost, but he's not blameless in terms of allowing some stuff to happen to him and not making the most of the scraps

that didn't help but he was already completely heatless before that
the main reason people dont care is because he started the reign with zero credibility. just randomly fluke won the title because they wanted it off seth
everyone knew from that moment his reign would not be important and so far yeah every match he has had as champion is just a plot device for other wrestlers
