Denying Macho Man his chance to feud with Shawn before staying on the mic. We could have had well over a decade of Macho Man commentating attitude era WWF, had some of the best matches of either mans career, and Macho Man probably would have stayed alive and healthy for far longer.

This. Try to work with the territories/take over the NWA from within instead of buying them out. WWE would be the top company wirh no competition. WCW and AEW would never happen, the WWF title would be THE World Heavyweight Championship and no one would be able to dispute that. In our timeline WWF/E lives in its own little world and its nauseating.

IIRC he got worked into giving exclusive WWE streaming rights in China for a decade to a shifty Chinese PPV company without consulting his dad because they promised him a boardroom position with a fancy title and he thought that meant making it on his own two feet. The PPV company was bankrupt like a year later.

This probably would have been the best option too. Keep the territories and use them as a talent farm while also keeping the locals invested in both. Local fans are way more likely to check the WWF if they find out one of their personal stars is getting his shot at the big time. It also allows the WWF to do cross promotions in territories and being more well liked by the locals.

Problem is that it would have required some tact to work, and Vince isn't the best at that
