Even if what you say is true, both Ospreay/Omega and Danielson/Okada are clearly booking for a match series rather than a one-off. If Danielson goes over, it's surely only to set up Okada winning the series in their next two matches (one of which will surely be in Japan).

Not the worst thing in the world really. It would probably be best for Danielson to win the first match since Okada doesn't have the belt on him. It's a rare opportunity to give someone a win over him and it's not necessarily a bad thing, imo.

Ospreay is only going over because Tony Khan is looking to sign him to AEW. Ospreay Omega is not really a "forbidden door" match at this point when we all know Ospreay will be "All Elite" next year.

Ospreay Omega was obviously going to be a series because the IWGP US Title was on the line. New Japan had to get it back somehow. No such thing involved in Okada vs Danielson.

Okada/Danielson is clearly an one-off and you're completely delusional if you think there is even a 1% chance of Okada going over Danielson. Danielson is literally one of the most popular professional wrestlers on the planet today. The guy is a multi time world champ in WWE and even other active wrestlers like Rollins have put Danielson's name on their Mount Rushmore of professional wrestlers. To top it off, the show in happening in USA in front of an American crowd. If the match was happening in Japan, maybe I would consider Okada going over. But this match is 100% Danielson's to win. You can screencap this and I will fist my ass if I turn out to be wrong on this one lol.

Furthermore, being a former IWGP Champ is clearly not an impressive thing on AEW Television. Juice is a former IWGP US Champ. Now he is a pin eater in 6 man tag matches and is selling chops from FTR Bald like he a young lion would. Jay White was literally the IWGP Heavyweight Champ last year and yet AEW announcers never even mention him being a former IWGP Champ. Take a hint, dude.

I agree with you overall. The Ospreay shit is just a Tiny Con move. NJPW gets a series but then it doesn't end up mattering because Ospreay cuts his cock off and the series continues in Trannyland.

SANADA wins but Juice will get the most out of the match by virtue of getting a close match against the top champion of another company. Don't put it past Con to book it so that SANADA gets the win via Hook bullshit, too. Can't have Jungle losing clean.

But I really am coping that Okada beats Bryan clean in the middle of the ring. He is New Japan's ace and the guy that will be very important in all the biggest stories of New Japan for years to come. If Gedo doesn't manage to negotiate a high profile win here, let alone he lets him get jobbed out, then he's five times more a cuck than even I realized.

The anti-console-war fag better hope that doesn't happen. If he ever had any hope of New Jachads not being eternal enemies of the trannies, then that hope would vanish as soon as Okada wasn't allowed to beat Bryan.

Predicting quarters and semis is still fairly easy. Predicting the block matches is the most challenging part of G1.

As for the quarters, Okada and Ospreay are a lock for the B block. ZSJ and Naito are a lock for the D block. I would put ZSJ as D1 and Naito as D2 instead though.

For C block, Finlay is definitely C1. C block is especially designed to make Finlay look good. C2 is confusing. Could be Shingo, Tama Tonga, EVIL or ELP. Shingo seems most likely though. A block, Kaito definitely advances. There is no way there aren't doing Okada vs Kaito in the semi final. Not sure about SANADA advancing though.

ELP would probably be the one that can carry CM Punk to the best match. His antics vibe well with Punk's. All Punk has to do is do his thing and also grab a few crazy dives.
That match shouldn't happen, though. ELP doesn't need more losses right now, even high profile ones like Punk.

Kojima is the choice I'd go with. He's old but can still go. And he can lose to Punk in fairly quick fashion in a nice, clean and well executed match. He isn't hurt by it and he'll probably have Punk coming out of it looking pretty good.

Cobb is generally a safe worker, but I think Punk is so sawdusted he would be at risk of injury if Cobb were to do any of his more impressive spots. Not worth risking it.

Wish Gedo would stop being a size queen. I legit think a feud with Tom would go a long way to establishing Finlay as a credible brawler type worker and Tom would be great at the NEVER level.

Weird, would have never guessed they were the same size. Tom looked small for a heavyweight last time he was in Japan but maybe that was just because they put him in the block with Fale/Okada/Archer etc.
