The Elite are simply the last line of defense in AEW from the new Tony/Punk regime. They are the white blood cells trying to fight against the cancer which has taken hold of AEW's healthy cells. If it wasn't them, it would be somebody else, because nobody in the world can believe the shit that Punk says about himself.
