2007-2011 Taker should've had a wwe championship run.

Taker had this thing in the late 90s and early 2000s where he was always short of winning the belt and ranted often about carrying the company and not getting any rewards. I think that was a real shoot from him. He eventually got an undisputed championship run I found underwhelming considering his gimmick at the time. But the 2007-2011 era of taker was a missed opportunity that would've made the spinner belt more credible.

He has eras. He runs the gamut from gimmick shitter to great legend during his entire run and he usually just rises to the point of his opponent. One thing I will give him is that he no-sold perfectly. The strikes still move you but you snap back. When I see a guy no sell by standing still and brushing off, he makes all of wrestling look bad. Taker sold that the punch was real but it didn't have a lasting impact. His only weaknesses were the urn being used against him and 4 piledrivers in a row.

Don't think it would've worked outside of 2011, though. Both for physical and political reasons. That said, I'm not really down about it, because Undertaker/Triple H II is one of my favorite matches ever.

Yes. Undertaker would've made it anywhere. Anywhere but WCW, I guess, but he still would've been big anywhere else. He had periods where he sucked. Undertaker in the late 90's/early 2000's wasn't the best worker. I'd say from 2006 to 2013, he was a great wrestler.

Taker's fine overall. He's just nowhere near GOAT status in ring. Someone exaggerated and said he didn't have a good match until 2006, but for a wrestler with such a long career and rep his resume is pretty short. Part of that is due to his gimmick early on that didn't lend itself to good matches, though. I remember hearing him say he really wanted to prove he could actually wrestle when he had his first big match against Bret in 97 and it was great.
