These long-running ultra-milked storylines almost always end in disappointment, like Goldberg's streak or a dude getting injured, etc.
And it's sad, because WWE used to be the company where WrestleMania gave them a loose structure for when to end storylines so they could pace accordingly. Now they just treat it as a "Yield" sign and speed past it.
