Why do zoomers that started watching wrestling a decade or two ago always go "Of all time" or "Ever"?

Isn't saying "He's the best wrestler today" sufficient? Why all the hyperbole?

Utterly retarded Meltzer-type take. It's true that wrestlers are in general more athletic and resilient nowadays, but there are a lot of parameters where wrestlers are actually worse on average nowadays. Stuff as simple as facial expressions or knowing how to do good looking strikes being a big one.

That isn't even the case with Ishii. He'd be a good striker and seller by any era's standards, but still. You're just wrong in that statement.

No they're not, they're fucking garbage. They just do more in their matches but even guys like Kenny manage to skate by with glaring weaknesses in their fundamentals like inability to throw good strikes and making half his matches look contrived and half his moves look sloppy.
The reason Ishii's so good is because he doesn't fall for the foibles of this era. Damn near everything he does looks well-executed and intentful.

Ishii's pretty unique because he's presented and talked up as incredibly tough and can give top guys hellish fights or even beat them, he's regularly been used as a spoiler in G1 seasons.
But he also takes clean losses, so knocking him down or beating him isn't a "feat". His toughness is less booking and more presentation/his own work. He's a non-monster, completely beatable super-tough cunt.

I've never understood why he hates NJPW in general, on paper it's what he wants out of wrestling. They don't do vignettes, good matches without Indy bullshit, keep kayfabe alive, have "real sports presentation" etc. Yet still, he shits on it.
