>>10652315Anon, pro wrestling has the least mainstream clout of any point in its history. Nobody knows who any of the supposed "stars" today are, unless they're holdovers from 20+ years ago or known for something outside of wrestling. Declining ratings prove that far less people watch wrestling than ever before. Don't believe me? Go ask someone outside the wrestling bubble to name 5 pro wrestlers. If they can even name 5, you will hear names like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Andre, Stone Cold, The Rock, and Brock Lesnar. You aren't going to hear Roman Reigns or MJF. That's just a fact. Increased revenue is due to smart business moves coupled with working the network marks given how desperate they are for live content with so many cord cutters. Plus WWE has a huge content library and so can demand a lot from streaming networks.
Wrestling is not popular today, and to think otherwise is delusional.
