Severn wasn't boring either. There was a lot of buzz around him at the time, along with Shamrock. You don't remember but early UFC had a mystique and bled over into the pro wrestling audience. Severn did need a gimmick to standout. We agree on that. Vince didn't even bother to try with something serious that would fit. It was Mantaur or Gobblegooker level of retardation.
