If it gets brought up I just say I see clips on occasion from frens and act like I dont really know the modern wrestlers. I dont really enjoy modern wrestling and dont keep up so its not to much of a fib

Lots of people just can't move past the fact that it's a fake sport. I think objectively pro wrestling is more worthwhile then capeshit but it's just difficult to explain to someone who doesn't get it why you like it.

I agree. It’s definitely an interest that is a rabbit hole. I try to plant the seed that “it’s the same thing as a movie, with a good guy bad guy”. I was once hesitant to watch wrestling again as an adult but eventually something clicks, whether it’s watching promos or understanding the storytelling in the ring.

There's something deeply unique about wrestling that makes it different from any other form of entertainment. When you watch a movie your not worried the actors themselves are gonna get hurt, but when your watching a character do something dangerous in wrestling your watching a real person. That's what makes it interesting the line between reality and fiction, wrestling fans spend more time thinking about why the creators of what they're watching decided that was the right decision for what should enfold in the story their watching. It actually takes a deep intelligence to appreciate the nuances of wrestling

I will add I have no problem talking about 80s and 90s wrestling since thats mostly what I watch. I really only know the modern wrestlers because of the posts on this board and clips you guys post. I dont watch modern wrestling
