Ministry Taker was an amazing evolution of his character. Brothers of Destruction ran its course and him turning unabashedly heel and incorporating occultic imagery and allusions made for some pretty amazing television.
Mark said he was somewhat uncomfortable with the whole thing and disliked that time period but it for the most part was something that breathed seriously new life into the character and him amassing a cult following, reincarnating and repackaging characters under his order like Viscera, Mideon, unifying the Acolytes, bringing early Edge and Christian into the fold made the threat credible with Taker no longer being a lone wolf. Then you add in his new themesong with the ominous Latin being spoken by him, the elongated goatee, the stone throne, the new ring gear robe and the Undertaker symbol he's crucifying people on and burning on Vince's yard; it was really riveting stuff. I'm sure there were soap operas or other shows at the time that had cults and Satanic elements, but to depict it in such a visceral way was incredible. Debuting Stephanie McMahon under this story and her reactions in the ring during the dark wedding was unnervingly disturbing. For a brief period, it was probably the best thing going before it became just another story about the inter family feud with the McMahon's.
