Why didn't Austin put any effort into his big match entrances? Now wrestlers routinely dress as comic and video game characters for special occasions, but Austin never did, so it's sort of underwhelming to go back a watch old PPVs

The fact he looked so simple in a world of extravagant and flashy looking guys made Austin unironically stand out even more.

And when he'd put effort into his entrances, it's pretty awesome, like his WrestleMania 13 entrance.

The kayfabe answer would be he's the everyman, a beer chugging, boss beating, regular guy, his fans don't even have a nickname like Taker or Hogan's do.
The real answer is he doesn't have to. Stone Cold Steve Austin was so over people cheered him as a heel and did 'WHAT' chants for years after he retired. Like Hogan, he had charisma, so he didn't have to work as hard for the crowd like, say, the Hardy brothers.
