No he was always a draw, never the guy cause of his gimmick but for 30 years he was consistent attraction, he probably made the most dimes of any wrestler in history overall. And he was extremely talented, he couldn't cut a promo but apart from that he could do pretty much everything. Its also impressive how he got fat became the iwcs least favourite wrestler and then got back in the best shape of his life and when on his best and one of the greatest runs in history. The last 5 years of his career were very unfortunate though but they'll probably be forgotten

His promos have always been shitty and he can only have good matches when he's in the ring with a top tier worker. Despite constantly working Rock and Austin he was never able to have a good match with either. He is the most overrated wrestler of all time bar none.

The difference is that a great worker can carry someone average or below, Bret and Flair made stars, Taker could only be made. I don't think Angle could put on a 5 star classic with Giant Gonzalez, but Bret and Shawn could take Diesel to a good match when Taker couldn't
