My big problem are the matches are too short. It’s way too easy to get a finisher and once you do one it’s over.

Yeah, people seem to really enjoy all the muh No Mercy marketing. So much so that a watered down, Yuke's-ified plastic imitation of No Mercy is just as good I guess.

I wanted to like it. I played a half hour of random exhibition matches before refunding. Too much Yuke's flavor. Makes it feel cheap as fuck.

Fair play to them actually getting a game out.
I think they'll struggle with making desirable DLC. It's not like they have a deep roster of legends to tap into. Maybe they're better to go for celebrities and video game characters.

Even though it is just kind of a surface level copycat of No Mercy, it doesn't 'play like shit' by any possible metric. It plays well and the gameplay's probably the only thing it has, it'd be getting 2/10s without it.

Too much Yuke's DNA creeping in there, and it's all the worst parts like the shitty Smackdown games or something. It's loose, floaty, and feels unfinished. I like some of the ideas and things they've expanded on with the gameplay, but that doesn't make it good overall.

If people like it, fine. It's a plastic imitation of No Mercy made by the company who was their competitor at the time. It's almost poetic or something.

I agree with your points mostly, it's janky and needs work but I think it's a solid base if they care to improve it. I do wish they shelled out the money to hire AKI properly and got the band back together because Yukes just aren't good enough to do the style justice. We'd already seen this happen once before with Wrestlemania X8 on Gamecube, when THQ were like "fuck 'em, we'll make our own AKI engine!" and it's a small miracle FF didn't turn out that bad.
