>>10751375Maybe there’s isn’t enough tape of the Sportatorium or Memphis or whatever and it’s hard to compare because those places had a few hundred fans at best. From what I remember of Gary Hart and Jimmy Hart and Cornette no one really cared in WCW or WWF. They were there to swing a tennis racket or distract the ref and talk for guys they got saddled with, they weren’t very additive and the crowd always seems non plussed except when the face beats on them a little. You could throw Mr. Fuji and Col. Robert Parker in there.
I don’t have an axe to grind against Cornette I think he’s way more over as a podcaster and wrestling historian than he ever was as a manager. That clip isn’t cherry picked, it’s just the first thing that popped on YouTube it just happens it’s the highest profile he’s ever been on a show in a big fed. Shawn is getting pops, Vince is getting pops, cornette talks and the crowd is just tuned out, it’s tumbleweeds. Sad to see actually. Bobby the Brain is the closest I’ve ever seen to sustaining a decent sized crowd reaction consistently no matter who he was with.
