WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff is one of the most respected veterans in the pro wrestling business, as many believe his mind for the industry is invaluable. He has been a major critic of AEW for the past couple of years, but it appears even he defended AEW Collision’s low ratings.
AEW Collision made its debut back in June as a way to give more focus to those AEW stars who weren’t given much emphasis on AEW television. Fans were excited for the show but the Ratings haven’t really reflected that yet.
The July 1st ratings were concerning, dropping to an average of 452,000 viewers and a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic. This was pretty much identical to what AEW Rampage gets.
While speaking on Strictly Business, Eric Bischoff stated that it isn’t time to hit the panic button. Easy E then explained why AEW Collision’s low ratings aren’t a cause for concern just yet.
>“I wouldn’t worry about it too much if I was Tony. It’s the Fourth of July weekend. There’s just not a lot of people sitting around watching television over the Fourth of July weekend, at least not as many as there normally are. That’s one factor. When I say I wouldn’t be concerned, I would be aware. I wouldn’t be panicking, it wouldn’t keep me up at night but I would definitely be aware because 452,000 viewers that’s 45 percent of a drop from their initial episode only three weeks ago.”
