Sounds impressive until you consider that, besides parts of the Italian peninsula as well as Greece and Egypt, all these territories were worthless shitholes. Carthage got destroyed by the Romans hundreds of years prior and Mesopotamia was already declining and only ruins full with goat fucking proto-muslims. France, Spain and Britain were celtic sheep fuckers living in mud huts during that time and the Balkans were always a shithole.
