WWE: Edgy Rebel dude who went meta a lot in promos. Had a giant reign that was second fiddle to John Cena that led to a quick transition to the Rock for 0 main stream appeal. The lead up to his reign was supposedly some huge deal, but led to viewers tuning away. Before that, he was the leader of one of the worst factions of all time. Before that, he was the leader of an okay faction. His unironic peak is his feud with Jeff Hardy, the easy going charismatic enigma druggy vs the hardass whiny straight edge cunt was just braindead easy to book. Before that, indie darling appeal.
Pre-WWE: His theme and ability to put on 60+ minute matches. Had some serious potential, but also significant personality issues.
