This was said when Hogan was out of the WWE bubble over at TNA. WWE have always been petty so took a shot at the Hulkster. Fact is, without Hogan heating wrestling up with the heel turn and NWO, no one would watch either show. So no one would watch WWF and see Austin.

there are 7Billion phones out there now, each one of them with bespoke, curated content presented by algorithm exactly precisely to the end users tastes

the fact that anyone watches anything in big numbers, let alone "Wrestling" is fucking amazing in 2023

the 80's and 90's were a captive TV audience limited exactly precisely to what was on the screen in front of them, rather than infinite choice the phone/internet provide
