Van Dam like Blackman has nothing to prove to anyone. When Taz was stomping around backstage saying he wanted to beat Van Dam up over something, someone came and told him and Rob simply said, "Sweet. Where's he at?", went up and confronted him like a man and told him to pick a hand and followed it up. Years down the line he saw the error of his way of handling that situation and resorted to finding better solutions to ending conflicts.

Blackman warned JBL and he found out the hard way. He apologized to Steve to his face to squash the beef because he found out first hand what happens when you screw with the wrong person.
