>>10905717>>10905725AEW is the best thing to ever happen to WWE because it put a sudden and abrupt end to people pointing out how bad WWE's numbers are. Because obviously by comparison WWE is doing better than AEW, that pretty much goes without saying.
But dingus, back before AEW was a thing the people who watched WWE used to rightfully shit on it constantly.
Having "competition" (lol) was supposed to force them to improve their product but the opposite happened. The console war mentality has resulted in a worst timeline where none of the companies have to even try anymore because their most rabid fans will defend them like Blizzard to not have to look bad in front of the other show's fans.
Like holy shit dude set AEW to the side (even if it hurts you to do so). WWE is a shell of its former self. It's the premier wrestling brand and its numbers are embarassing.
>record profitsFor obvious reasons related to globalization that don't have to do with the quality of the shows. Super Mario Odyssey sold more than twice as much as Supe Mario 64 but SM64 actually had command of the zeitgeist in the 90s. A bluer ocean of less-fanatic consumers will increase profits, yes. And in WWE's case, the equivalent isn't more sales (which would be more viewers) it's more licensing deals (shit that doesn't impact the show)
I don't care about profits. I want wrestling to be at least semi-mainstream. I was playing MW2 Warzone yesterday and I called a kid Roman Reigns as an insult and he had no clue who I was talking about.
WWE is doing bad. The rest of wrestling is doing worse. WWE is still doing bad.
Fuck you console war deflecting retards.
