The Super Bowl was held there in 1982, and announced an attendance of 81k. Considering WWF could put thousands of seats on the field too, there would need to be thousands of empty seats for the 78k number to be accurate. I don't see any. Is Dave's position that the NFL number was worked?

Thats not what the article says at all. Zane bresloff, the guy who promoted wm3, has told everyone that will listen that the attendance was 78,500. He's the guy the first told dave. The stadium however is so goddamn sick of wrestling losers calling and asking to confirm the real number that theyve officially 'upped' the records to the 93k wwe advertises. Since the stadium offices 'upped' wwe, they also 'upped' the pope, so hes still the buildings largest draw.
