Add to the fact it was before all our times and there is no real proof that Thesz was in fact a shooter or cable of doing anything other than he seemed familiar with catch wrestling. Every generation of athletes by and large is more capable, better coached and better conditioned than what came before them. Look at a sport like ape hoop. Only guys with extreme pathologies could even compete with modern players. People like Jordan and Bird. Maybe guys like Isiah or Russel who understood team sports and made great sacrifices in their own game for the teams benefit could find a role. Wilt Chamberlain was unstoppable for a decade. He’d be almost unplayable in the modern era. Bob Cousy was at one point the greatest point guard of all time. Bob Cousy couldn’t start for most high level AAU or High School programs in America today.
The sensible answer would be that anyone of a similar weight or above, with any sort of high end amateur background in wrestling or mma would eat this balding faglord’s lunch. Possibly even OP could.
