>>10987188I'm 34.
WCW used to be on ITV in early 1990's. But I was too young to watch & it was on at like 2am or soemthing. WCW ran UK tours a few times in early 1990's also. One of them built around British Bulldog. I think they did a tour with Hogan as headliner also.
If you had basic cable in mid 1990's you could get TNT which aried WCW Nitro and later Thunder. This is whereI discovered WCW and became a wrestling fan. We didn't get Sky Sports which aired WWF because you had to pay extra (later my parents got Sky Sports), so i could only see WWF highlight on SkyOne.
I also had many of the WCW video game. WCW ran two successful UK tours in 2000. Channel 5 started showing UK version of WCW worldwide around 1999. TNT was later remaned TCM (Turner Classic Movies) but still showed WCW. But for some reason by late 2000 they stopped and WCW aired on Bravo.
I vividly recall switching the channels between WCW on bravo and WWF on SkySports during the last Nitro. In the UK it was the Friday Night Wars.
Wrestling got popular during Attitude Era. WWF was way more popular in UK but WCW still got exposure in Magazines, video games, VHS tapes etc. Again wrestling was hot so WCW sold out all their shows on their tour in March 2000 based off advertising Nash, Sting And Goldberg. There was a TV show called Panorama about customers compaliningt that the stars WCW advertised didn't show up.
Scott Hall & Kevin Nash appeared on Live & Kicking TV show to promote said tour. Bith with Spice Girls. Scott Hall's was extra awesome as he spanked the hosts ass and said he would lick her anyday of the week.
ECW used to air on Bravo in UK also.
