The show had moments still but it was a weird visage of the show it started as by the time s2 was in full swing. It is actually retarded how badly the botched Arrow and Flash. Even funnier how they didn't use them as the movie arrow and flash as they both did a perfect job as the characters.

I feel like the unions must've worked their way into making studios signing some kind of exclusivity contract. I have no idea why the studios would ever agree to that but that's the only reason I could think of where it makes sense that productions aren't just continuing on with non union people.

They are contracted. They could 100% be replaced with outside workers but it would require new deals. There are legal procedures involved but there is nothing stopping them from outright replacing all of them if they truly desired.
(its also whats coming and they will begin paying actors for their "digital likeness rights" instead of putting up with them at all, just like they will pay writers to train AIs to write like them.)

Thought so too, but was proved wrong since S5. The thing is there was not much to act in a CWoap opera. Thinly veiled melodrama gets boring very fast without a good story and challenges for the characters.

NTA I thought he did great with Oliver Queen. The scenes early on of him trying to Bruce Wayne it were a perfect portrayal of the more "classic" Oliver. The island and post island stuff a great example of the later versions of Oliver. I thought the dude did great with what he was given. Obviously like you said only so much you can do on the CW shows but those guys had a pretty solid track record of casting. Here's a fun one: Alan Ritchson is becoming popular after Reacher got some buzz on Amazon. His big ass was tapped to play Aquaman originally.

All they need is 300 or so people to do bodyscans and sign away their likenesses in perpetuity. Then they'll have their stars and can make movies and television without actors.
