If he was that good a writer, he would've worked in TV or made his own low budget movies. He was connected at one point. Has he directed any shorts? This isn't some genius writer who doesn't know anybody, he was in television. He should've made horror movies or something. Why didn't he?

The meme is true, McMahon was his filter. I don't understand why people see that as shitting on Russo though.
He's very creative and has great ideas but when he was let loose shit just got too crazy. When he had pushback or people tweaking his material he was excellent.

Neither. He's an idea guy. He always seems to want to make sure everyone on the card has something to do, but he thinks every idea he comes up with is a good one. In order to properly use Russo, he should have no final say on what makes it to television and he always needs an editor to filter out his shit.
