>>11113090I feel like this is bait, but what the hell?
>Hogan wasn’t VinceBut he wasn't. Hulk Hogan's mannerisms and style was before Vince. Now, did Vince have a part in the popularity of Hulkamania, absolutely, but he wasn't its creator. Do you honestly think Vince took Terry and said "Okay, so what we're going to do is dress you red and yellow, these are your catchphrases, and this your moveset" No, he didn't. But here is a question, if Verne had put the belt on Hulk, then what? Let's add to that. If Bitchoff hadn't fired Mick Foley and Steve Austin and they'd remained in WCW, what then for the WWF? Noticing a pattern yet?
>Bret and LugerYes, Bret Hart finally got the belt after Vince literally had no options. Luger was a massive flop, despite the music video, the tour, the slam on the battleship, and the massive push. Outside of Hart who was there as a big babyface, which we know Vince likes?
>Oh he didn’t want to push so and soIn most cases, he was forced by either outside pressure or his draws saying this is who I wanna work with. Bret Hart wanted to work with Austin. Austin wanted to work with Mick Foley and then Rock.
>Oh he didn’t like AustinWhen did I say that? I even said Vince's rivalry with Austin made him a megastar. But let me ask you this if WWF wasn't in such a desperate place, with WCW breathing down their neck, do you honestly think, Austin would have ever got a look in? Austin made it because he was what Vince needed to beat back WCW. If, however, Vince had the total control he has now, there is no way guys like Austin, Bret, or Mick would have gotten their pushes. It wasn't by choice, it was by force. The reason the rivalry between the two worked so well, was because Austin was not Vince's ideal champion of his company should be. That's not to say he didn't like Austin, but if Vince had had it his way, it would have been Austin.
