Why is the PG era still despised to this day? It’s the one stretch of time where both casuals, smarks and even anti smarks all hated the product

It was a product built to appeal to a rapidly diminishing kiddy audience who liked exactly one guy, if you weren't a Cena fan the booking was just constant misery. I just think of Hornswoggle and guest hosts and the Bella Twins and Alberto Del Rio vs Sheamus lmao

For one, it seemed like completely overnight the entire product became ridiculously sanitized. Everyone at the time thought it was because of Linda running for senate and people were celebrating when she finally lost because they thought WWE could be edgy again.
